Often in my books I use the language to hide clues for my readers!When Starling visits the cemetery she is met with a headstone that reads, “Avi Mortem.”  In Latin, this means Bird of Death. If you know the secret, it can change your reading of the book.The Catharterian’s motto: Mortem. Genus. Honor. Translates to: Death. Family. While researching the book, I came across a few pictures of one of their reported ‘ghosts.’ My favorite, a ghostly dog, made an appearance in the book at the side of with my other favorite ghost*, Gracie Watson!Gracie Watsonghost-dog         Today’s Song:Today’s song is a bit darker than the last post, but it was a key song when I started looking for characters to build and weave into the story. I loved the line: “Only one sure way to bring the giant down…”From there it was easy to write a story about enlisting ghosts in bringing down an enemy!Here’s a lighter one!
