Often in my books I use the language to hide clues for my readers!When Starling visits the cemetery she is met with a headstone that reads, “Avi Mortem.”  In Latin, this means Bird of Death. If you know the secret, it can change your reading of the book.The Catharterian’s motto: Mortem. Genus. Honor. Translates to: Death. Family.
